Here’s the buzz about National Coffee Day!

National Coffee Day is Monday, September 29, 2025. To stir things up, many coffee shops are celebrating the highly caffeinated holiday with freebies and discounts at participating locations. Here’s what’s percolating.

This is a great day to swing by a locally-owned coffee shop for a freshly brewed cup of your favorite caffeinated concoction. 

The majority of these free and cheap perks are available at national chains with locations in the Portland metro area.

2025 National Coffee Day Deals

Circle K

On September 29, the popular convenience store/gas station is giving away a free medium hot or iced coffee. The closest location to Portland is 19791 S Hwy 213 in Oregon City.

Dutch Bros

Starting at 5 a.m. on National Coffee Day, get a set of car coasters with every purchase of any two drinks at Dutch Bros. This deal is available while supplies last. Max 10 sets per customer. Ordering ahead doesn’t reserve items or guarantee availability.

Grubhub

On National Coffee Day, Grubhub+ members get $7 off $20 Starbucks orders. There’s no promo code required. Available for orders from 12 a.m.and 11:55 p.m. local time on September 29. 

Krispy Kreme

Get sweet deals at Krispy Kreme on National Coffee Day:

• Everyone who visits participating Krispy Kreme shops can get a free medium hot or iced coffee and free doughnut of choice, no purchase necessary.
• Also, Krispy Kreme is offering an Original Glazed dozen for just $1 with the purchase of any dozen at regular price. 

The free coffee and doughnut offer is available Monday in-shop and via drive-thru at participating shops across the U.S. The BOGO deal is available in-shop, via drive-thru and for pickup or delivery online with promo code BOGO1, while supplies last.

Peet’s Coffee

This year, Peet’s Coffee offers its first-ever Cold Brew Pass. For $30, Peetnik Rewards members get a medium cold brew for 30 days. The pass must be bought by September 30, 2025. Once activated, it is valid for 30 consecutive days. Limit one cold brew per day. 

Verena Street Coffee

Get 25% off all coffee, now through 11:59 p.m. September 29 at Verena Street Coffee. Choose from balanced, low-acid brews or seasonal favorite Pumpkin Smasher.

Voodoo Doughnut

On September 29, Voodoo Doughnut has a variety of deals: 

• Free Brewed Magic Roast or Magic Roast Cold Brew with any purchase from 6 a.m. to noon, in store only.
• $2 Pumpkin Spice Latte Doughnuts
• $5 off Pink Mugs $5 off 12 oz bags of Magic Roast, in store and online.
