New Year’s Eve Celebration and Drone Show in Portland

Head to Pioneer Courthouse Square on December 31, 2024, from 8 p.m. to 12:30 a.m. for a free, all ages New Year’s Eve celebration.Whether you’re dancing the night away, marveling at mesmerizing drone light shows or enjoying festive food and drinks, this event hits the high notes of NYE parties. 

This year, The Square transforms into the ultimate New Year’s Eve destination. Portland’s iconic “Living Room” with live drone shows, a massive dance party and all the festive vibes you could wish for.

Here’s what is in store:

Video Dance Attack: 80s and Beyond!

Kick off the night at 8 p.m. with a dance party like no other. Portland’s very own Video Dance Attack will turn The Square into a retro-fueled dance floor, spinning the hottest hits from the 80s and beyond.

Watch music videos projected onto giant screens as you dance to the ultimate sound and light show experience.

Drone Shows by Sky Elements

Prepare to be dazzled by not one but two awe-inspiring drone light displays:

• 9 p.m. A family-friendly drone show for early revelers, perfect for kids and families looking to celebrate before bedtime.
• 12 a.m. The countdown drone show, featuring an aerial spectacle to welcome 2025 in style.

With more than 200 drones choreographed by world-renowned Sky Elements, these shows promise to light up the sky with artistry and innovation.

Food, Drinks and Festive Fun

Stay fueled throughout the night with food and beverages available for purchase. Enjoy a wide range of options, including both alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks, and take a break from the festivities to refuel and recharge.

Pioneer Courthouse Square is at 701 SW 6th Ave. in Portland. Also, TriMet bus, MAX and streetcar rides are free after 8 p.m. on New Year’s Eve.
