New Year’s Eve Fireworks at the Space Needle
Picture this: fireworks and 500 drones illuminating the skies next to the Space Needle, creating a mesmerizing dance of lights and colors. This technological marvel is just the beginning of a night filled with wonder. Best of all, you have two viewing options. Enjoy the live broadcast from your TV or device in Portland, or join thousands of spectators for the show in Seattle.
What makes this celebration even more special is the carefully curated soundtrack that accompanies the festivities. The West Coast’s biggest party will feature tracks from local Pacific Northwest artists, such as Black Belt Eagle Scout and Modest Mouse, alongside global hitmakers, including Beyoncé and Taylor Swift. As the clock ticks down, the music will set the tone for a celebration of the biggest moments of 2023.
The 16-minute show begins seven minutes before midnight.
How to Watch in Portland
Starting at 11:30 p.m., the celebration is broadcast live for one hour on Portland’s KGW 8. Viewers at home can tune in to channel 8 or watch online at www.kgw.com/watch. Additionally, the broadcast is available on KGW 8’s Roku, Amazon Fire and Apple TV apps, ensuring that everyone can be part of this extraordinary experience from the comfort of their homes.

For those fortunate enough to be at Seattle Center, the Space Needle will not only be the backdrop for the fireworks show at midnight but also a canvas for impressive 10-minute light shows. These captivating displays are scheduled at 10, 10:30, 11 and 11:30 p.m.
