Zooming around the wooden oval rink to playful music with a kaleidoscope of colors illuminating room as we make a feeble attempt to defy gravity by holding on to friends and family. There are a lot of fond memories that come with roller skating.

Oaks Park Roller Rink: Go Skating for $12
Oaks Amusement Park in Portland has been bringing joy to the young and young at heart since 1905. In fact, it is one of the oldest continually operating amusement parks in the country.
The Oaks Park Roller Rink offers year-round fun for Portlanders with skating available seven days a week. Open skate sessions are available during select hours each day.
Here is the Fall/Winter session schedule:
- Tuesday from 3-5 p.m.
- Wednesday and Thursday from 3-5 and 7-9:30 p.m.
- Friday and Saturday from 1-5 and 7-10:30 p.m.
- Sunday from 1-5 and 7-9:30 p.m.
During holidays and school breaks, the skating rink usually offers extended open skate sessions and fun family events. Twice a month, you can join a black-out skate under the disco lights during Glow Skate nights.
Admission is $12 and includes standard skate rental. Oaks Park recommends purchasing tickets online in advance. Tickets are non-refundable.
You are also welcome to bring your own skates. They will be subject to inspection by Oaks Park staff in order to protect the skating rink floors.
