The annual event brings together athletes, musicians, dancers, families and friends for a vibrant celebration of Scottish heritage.

2026 Portland Highland Games

The Portland Highland Games are Saturday, June 6, from 8 a.m. to 9:30 p.m. at the Washington County Fairgrounds in Hillsboro. For one day only, the grounds come alive with the stirring sounds of bagpipes and drums and highland athletes performing throughout the day. 

Highland Athletics

One of the event’s biggest attractions is the Highland Games athletic competition. Watch skilled competitors test their strength and technique in classic events, including:

• Caber tossing
• Hammer throwing
• Stone put
• Weight throw competitions

Dance Performances

Enjoy exhibitions of Highland and Celtic dance presented by regional schools and talented performers. 

Explore Scottish Heritage

Visitors can browse clan displays and heritage booths to learn more about Scottish history, genealogy and family connections.

Food, Shopping, and Activities

Enjoy a variety of local food vendors alongside traditional Scottish fare.

Stroll through the artisan market featuring:

• Celtic jewelry
• Woolens and textiles
• Handcrafted goods
• Musical instruments
• Specialty Scottish merchandise

Tickets and Location

The Portland Highland Games at the Washington County Fairgrounds, 801 NE 34th Ave. in Hillsboro. 

Here’s a breakdown of ticket prices:

• Adult tickets: $29.95
• Senior tickets: $25.95
• Youth (5-17): $9.95
• Children 4 and under attend for free.
