2024 Dahlia Festival at Swan Island Dahlias

Visit one of the Portland area’s beloved flower farms this summer during the Dahlia Festival at Swan Island Dahlias.

Swan Island Dahlias in Canby has been growing beautiful blooms for close to 100 years. The flower farm is the largest and leading dahlia grower in the United States. With roots in Portland, Oregon, the farm is named after its origin on Swan Island. Since the 1940s, Swan Island Dahlias has called Canby home.

Each summer, the flower farm invites the community to come out and stroll through the dahlia fields. Here’s information about the festival.

The 2024 Dahlia Festival at Swan Island Dahlias is taking place August 1-September 29, 2024. The festival is held Wednesday through Sunday (plus Labor Day) from 9 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.

The festival is free and celebrates the blooming season with live music, food carts, local vendors and classes.

The highlight of the event is the 40 acres of beautiful dahlias in more than 370 varieties. Bouquets are available for purchase. You can also order your favorite dahlias for delivery and planting in the spring. The gift shop is full of other treasures you may want to take home.

Each day, there will be a food cart onsite. Outside food is allowed and there are lots of picnic tables where you can enjoy your meal and drinks.

On weekends, there are a variety of classes ranging from painting to needlework to macrame to yoga. Advance registration is required. Musicians perform on Saturdays and Sundays from 12-4 p.m.

When you visit on Sundays, you can get fresh produce and homemade goods at the farmers market.

Swan Island Dahlias is located at 995 NW 22nd Ave. in Canby. Admission and parking is free. The event is handicap accessible.
