We all miss Fareless Square, but the days of free rides on TriMet haven’t completely disappeared. Thanks to Portland Parks & Recreation, TriMet bus No. 83, also known as the Washington Park Loop bus, is completely FREE every day from Memorial Day through Labor Day.
Catch the bus every 20 minutes at the Providence Park MAX stop and ride it to every major attraction in the park. From start to finish, the bus stops at nine locations in the park: the Lewis & Clark Memorial, the Holocaust Memorial, the Rose Garden/Tennis Courts/Amphitheater, the Archery Range, Washington Park MAX/the Oregon Zoo/Children’s Museum/World Forestry Center/Vietnam Veterans Memorial, Hoyt Arboretum, Japanese Gardens/Tennis Courts/Amphitheater, the Zoo Train Depot and the Children’s Play Park. The one-way loop ends back at the Providence Park MAX stop.
After Labor Day, weekends-only service will continue through September and October.
