Take a scenic ride aboard the vintage Willamette Shore Trolley in Lake Oswego and Portland.
During your ride, you’ll travel along a historic rail line dating back to the late 1800s. You’ll go back in time to when electrified trolleys transported citizens throughout the Portland area. The Willamette Shore Trolley passengers ride in a replica of Portland’s Council Crest cars.
Here’s how you can enjoy this unique local attraction.
Ride the Willamette Shore Trolley
In 2025, you can hop on the trolley in Portland and Lake Oswego. On the ride, you’ll travel via vintage trolley through posh neighborhoods with stunning views of the Willamette River. You also travel through the elk rock tunnel.

Seasonal Schedule
The 2025 trolley service is on Saturday and Sunday from Memorial Day weekend through Labor Day. Special trolley days also include Memorial Day, May 26, and Labor Day, September 1.
This year, the trolley makes three round trips from Lake Oswego to Portland. You can hop on at either location. The ride lasts about 45 minutes.
There are three round trips per day on Saturday and Sunday. The trolley departs from Lake Oswego at 12, 2 and 4 p.m. It departs from Portland at 1, 3 and 5 p.m.
The new stop in Portland is at SW Bancroft Street on Portland southwest waterfront district.
Tickets
Here’s a breakdown of ticket prices:
- $10 for adults ages 13 to 64.
- $5 for kids ages 2 to 12.
- $9 for seniors age 65+.
- Free for infants under 2.
Each ticket is one way, so be sure to book your return ticket as well.
Buying tickets online in advance is encouraged. Limited walk-up tickets will be available on a first-come, first-served basis.
Seats are not preassigned. All riders are asked to arrive at least 15 minutes before the scheduled departure.
Holiday Events
The trolley also offers rides during special holidays. Tickets and dates have not been released for these 2025 events yet, but here’s a brief description of what you can look forward to.
Fireworks Trolley
Take a ride and get an unobstructed view of the 4th of July fireworks across from Oaks Park.
Tinseltown Trolley
The City of Lake Oswego Parks and Recreation hosts a family-friendly event with Santa Claus.
Christmas Ships Trolley
Watch the Christmas Ships parade on the Willamette River from the comfort of the trolley.
Trolley Starting Points
The Lake Oswego Depot is at 311 North State Street in Lake Oswego. You can park at the municipal parking lot off of Foothills Road or anywhere in downtown Lake Oswego and take a short walk to the depot.
The Bancroft Street Portland Terminal is at SW Moody Street and Bancroft Street in Portland. Metered street parking is available nearby.
