With a cool chill in the air, fall is here, and that means it’s time for the 9th annual Wood Village Pumpkin Fest.
The pumpkin fest brings together the entire community for a day of festive fun. You may also enjoy Trick-or-Treat Events in and around Portland, Kids Monster Fest at Veterans Memorial Coliseum and Halloween on Franklin.
Here’s what you can enjoy at the weekend event:
2024 Wood Village Pumpkin Fest
The Wood Village Pumpkin Fest is Saturday, October 26, 2024, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Donald L Robertson Park. Everyone is invited to a free day filled with fun, family-friendly activities to celebrate the Halloween season.
The pumpkin fest is packed with free activities that will keep the entire family entertained. Enjoy favorites like a petting zoo, inflatable axe throwing, archery and face painting.
If the crisp autumn air leaves you craving something warm, be sure to grab some of the free hot drinks, including champurrado (a traditional Mexican chocolate-based drink) and warm apple cider. Don’t forget to snag a treat like conchas or donuts to enjoy while you soak in the fun.
Here’s are the featured activities you can enjoy at the free event:
Trunk-or-Treat
One of the highlights of Pumpkin Fest is the Trunk-or-Treat, where more than 600 children, families and community members come together to collect free candy, treats and goodies from local businesses, community groups and nonprofits. This event guarantees an exciting trick-or-treating experience for kids of all ages!
Pumpkin Carving
The Pumpkin Fest offers more than 500 take-home pumpkins with carving kits. Families can take them home to carve their own spooky or creative designs at their leisure.
Dia de los Muertos
In a celebration of the rich cultural diversity of the community, the Pumpkin Fest also features elements of Dia de los Muertos. There’s dancing, music and traditional pan de muerto (bread of the dead), along with a community ofrenda where families can honor their loved ones.
This meaningful addition is hosted in partnership with Lideres Naturales, a local community group dedicated to preserving and sharing cultural traditions.
The event is at Donald L Robertson Park, located at 24300 NE Halsey St. in Wood Village, Oregon. Whether you come for the treats, the pumpkins, or the cultural celebration, the Wood Village Pumpkin Fest promises to be a fantastic afternoon for all ages.
