Celebrate the Year of the Horse during the Chinese New Year Cultural Fair at the Oregon Convention Center.

The Year of the Horse is a symbol of leadership and success. Join in on the daylong celebration of a year of good fortune.

2026 Chinese New Year Cultural Fair

On Saturday, February 28, 2026, from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., enjoy a showcase of traditional and contemporary Chinese cultural activities at the Oregon Convention Center. 

Performances include lion dances, folk dances, instrumental music, calligraphy and martial arts demonstrations and children’s games. Plus, don’t miss the raffle featuring prizes from a variety of Portland businesses.

Explore new regions of cuisine from a variety of Asian food and market vendors. There are also booths filled with unique products, retail offerings and services.

Schedule of Performances

11 a.m. Martin Luther King Jr. Elementary School’s Chinese class performance followed by a children’s lion dance from Portland Cantonese Play & Learn, and a New Year’s blessing from the Portland Women’s Association with an elegant cheongsam show.

12 p.m. Opening ceremony performance by the White Lotus Lion Dance Team, the God of Wealth distributing red envelopes, and a performance by students from the Chinese School.

1 p.m. Martial arts performance by Peak Martial Arts Academy followed by a Portland Arts Center, the Joyful Dance Group and Wenlu Guzheng Studio dance performances

2 p.m. Yuezi Dance Team, Portland Women’s Association’s dragon dance to celebrate the New Year, Bamboo Forest International School, and the NWCA Chinese Arts Troupe perform.

3 p.m. A magic show, the Mulan Drum Team, and the Portland Diabolo Team provided lively performances.

4 p.m. The grand finale features a high-pole lion dance by the White Lotus Lion Team and a martial arts performance by Peak Martial Arts Academy

Admission at the door is $10 per person plus a service fee and free for ages 3 and under. For more information, visit the event website.
