Looking for a fun outing with the family during winter break? Head to Zenger Farm for low-cost, family-friendly activities during Family Farm Days.
Zenger Farm is a 24-acre combined farm and wetland in southeast Portland. The urban farm hosts educational activities in a natural environment. Their programs teach kids and adults the importance of food, farming, wetland conservation and environmental stewardship.
During Family Farm Days, bring your family or pod to Zenger Farm for hands-on activities and self-guided farm tours. When you arrive, you’ll check-in, review safety protocols, and pick up your interactive farm map and scavenger hunt.
Explore freely for up to 2 hours while enjoying three staffed activity stations:
- Visit and feed the chickens
- Catch critters in the wetland
- Steward the land in the new Children’s Garden
Before visiting, you will need to reserve your spot online. You’ll choose between the 12-2 p.m. and 2-4 p.m. time slots. Zenger Farm has a sliding scale donation for admittance to this event, starting at $5 per family or pod.
Be sure to dress for the weather. Bring a mask, wear boots, and pack any snacks and drinks to bring with you. Bathrooms and water bottle filling will be available. They will also be serving hot herbal tea.
