Attend the Japanese American Museum of Oregon for Free First Sunday event. 

The Japanese American Museum of Oregon preserves and honors the history and culture of Japanese Americans in the Pacific Northwest. The museum educates the public about the Japanese American experience during WWII, and advocates for the protection of civil rights for all Americans.

On the first Sunday of the month, you can visit the museum for free and participate in family-friendly activities.

Free First Sunday at the Japanese American Museum of Oregon

On the first Sunday of the month from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., get free admission and hands-on, family-friendly activities at the Japanese American Museum of Oregon.

Visit JAMO’s current exhibition as well as the museum’s permanent exhibition on free first Sunday.

Also, the current exhibit is Taken From Their Families: Japanese American Incarceration on Angel Island During World War II.

February Activity

Celebrate National Ukulele Day! This instrument originated in Portuguese and has become synonymous with Hawai’ian music. 

 Craft supplies are available in the library for visitors to make their own mini rubber band ukulele to take home. Visitors can also try playing a real ukulele.

This event is free to attend and open to all.
