Attend the Japanese American Museum of Oregon for Free First Sunday event. 

The Japanese American Museum of Oregon preserves and honors the history and culture of Japanese Americans in the Pacific Northwest. The museum educates the public about the Japanese American experience during WWII, and advocates for the protection of civil rights for all Americans.

On the first Sunday of the month, you can visit the museum for free and participate in family-friendly activities.

Here are the details about the monthly event: 

Free First Sunday at the Japanese American Museum of Oregon

On the first Sunday of the month from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., get free admission and hands-on, family-friendly activities at the Japanese American Museum of Oregon.

Visit JAMO’s current exhibition as well as the museum’s permanent exhibition on free first Sunday.

Also, there is currently a small exhibition in the museum’s library on the importance of bowling in the Oregon Nikkei community—Japanese emigrants and their descendants. 

November Activity

Discover objects, photographs and stories in the museum as a history detective. Complete three activities to receive a special History Detectives badge. See the front desk at the museum for more information.

There’s also a zine making station is for all ages, kid through adult.

This event is free to attend and open to all.
