If you’ve ever been curious about fly fishing but didn’t know where to start, attend an upcoming free fly fishing workshop.
Led by fisheries biologist Anna Le, this hands-on learning experience is designed to give beginners the skills and knowledge they need to feel confident stepping into the world of fly fishing.
Here’s what is in store.
Free Fly Fishing Workshop at Blue Lake Regional Park
Held on select Saturdays, these free workshops teach participants the fundamentals, including fly casting techniques, knot tying, and how to properly set up a rod. Beyond the basics, the workshop dives deeper into understanding trout behavior and ethical harvesting practices.
Dive deeper with discussions about freshwater insect ecology, gaining insight into how insects, fish, and aquatic environments are interconnected.
This is an opportunity yo build skills and a deeper appreciation for the creatures that call our streams, lakes, and rivers home.
All materials are provided, making it easy to show up and learn. It’s important to note that this is a land-based workshop—no actual fishing or in-water activities will take place.
