Chelatchie Prairie Railroad Mother’s Day Train Ride
The Chelatchie Prairie Railroad Mother’s Day Train Ride is Saturday, May 10, and Sunday, May 11, 2025.
Along the trip, passengers see views of the Lewis River atop a hillside vantage point.
The journey begins at the Yacolt station, where the 1941 Alco diesel engine sets the wheels in motion. Passengers enjoy the scenic views from one of two cabooses or the comfortable coach car. The train traverses through a 330-foot solid rock tunnel, creating an immersive experience for all aboard.
The journey includes a stop at Moulton Station, providing passengers with a chance to explore the beautiful surroundings and visit Yacolt Falls. It’s an ideal time to stretch your legs, take in the fresh air and appreciate the natural wonders of the area.

Schedule
The Chelatchie Prairie Railroad event hosts multiple train rides. On May 10 and 11, the train departs at noon and 2:30 p.m. Be sure to arrive at least 20 minutes before departure.
