From community trick-or-treat events to imaginative public displays to family-friendly activities, you’ll find plenty of budget-friendly ways to get into the spooky spirit.

Beauhaunt Pirate-Themed Attraction
Welcome aboard this family-friendly, pirate-themed haunt featuring five free attractions in Lake Oswego. What began as a small passion project has grown into a full-scale Halloween attraction. On select nights in October, head to Beauhaunt for an interactive experience.

Davis Graveyard
This is the type of attraction you can visit multiple times and see something new every time. At Davis Graveyard in Milwaukie, the headstones, props and backdrops you see are made by hand. Lights are on each night in October. On select nights, there are also special effects.
The display is at 8703 SE 43rd Ave. in Milwaukie. Check out the schedule.

Halloween on Franklin
In Vancouver, Halloween on Franklin is a nightly display that awakens the undead. The Halloween display immerses you in a world where skeletons roam and spooky creatures come to life. See familiar faces from some of your favorite Halloween movies on select nights. Plus, there’s a trick-or-treat event on Halloween night.
The display is located at 4616 NW Franklin Street in Vancouver.

Little Ghost Library
Always dreamed of being a ghost buster? This little free library needs your help. Tucked away in the Westmoreland neighborhood, the Little Ghost Library is resurrected for the month of October. Exorcise the library by adopting a little ghost. You’ll also find stickers and cute decor.
Little Ghost Library is at SE Tolman St. and SE 18th Ave. in Portland. You can find out more on the PDX Sidewalk Joy Map.
Post Mabone and Tiny Things Exchange
While you’re visiting the Little Ghost Library, head over to meet Post Mabone, a permanently installed 12-foot yard skeleton and friends. While you can spot Posty sporting holiday decor year-round, the skeleton goes all out for Halloween. Plus, you can add another touch of whimsy by browsing the tiny things exchange on the gate.

The Pirates of Pinehurst
If you’re up for drive to Sherwood, The Pirates of Pinehurst delights visitors all October long. There are three attractions: the street, the show and the hunt. A quiet cul-de-sac becomes a bustling pirate haven where 11 homes create themed displays worthy of the high seas. From Dead End Lagoon to Sirens’ Cove, take a stroll through the court to experience each pirate scene up close.

Thriller Flash Mob
Does Thriller evoke the spirit of the spooky season? Do you have the ultimate zombie outfit? Interested in a feel-good Halloween happening that invites you to let out your inner undead? If you answered yes to any of these questions, you should join the Thriller Flash Mob at Irving Park. Or at least cheer from the sidelines.
The event takes place at Irving Park, 707 NE Fremont St. in Portland. Here’s how to participate in Thrill the World Portland.
Trick-or-Treat Events
Trick-or-treat events are popping up all over the Portland area, inviting your family to get out, show off your costumes and collect some delicious treats.
Here’s a list of more than 25 trick-or-treat events in and around Portland. Most of them are completely free to attend. Events start the weekend before Halloween so be to peruse the list so you don’t miss your preferred event.
Wood Village Pumpkin Fest
The Wood Village Pumpkin Fest is packed with activities include free pumpkins, goodie bags, trunk-or-treat, petting zoo, pet costume contest and games. Also, participate in truck-or-treat and Dia de los Muertos activities.
The event is Saturday, October 25, 2025, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Donald L Robertson Park.
