Are you Hufflepuff, Gryffindor, Ravenclaw or Slytherin? No matter your Hogwarts House, you’re invited to gather at Kennedy School for Harry Potter’s birthday.
Wizarding Weekend is a magical celebration full of activities. Aspiring wizards and witches of all ages can head to Kennedy School to participate in special games and activities while enjoying themed food and drink items, including butterbeer.
When is Harry Potter’s Birthday?
Harry Pottter’s birthday is July 31, 1980. Born to Lily and James Potter, his birth held immense significance, not only for himself but for the entire wizarding world. As the years passed, July 31 has became a day of celebration for wizards and muggles who believe in the power of magic and the resilience of the human spirit.
Here’s how you can celebrate this special day in Portland.
Harry Potter’s Birthday Celebration
Wizarding Weekend at Kennedy School is July 24-26, 2026. Dress in your best costume and head to Kennedy School to celebrate with your fellow muggles.
For the most part, the birthday celebration is free to attend. Movie tickets and food are available for purchase.
Kennedy School’s gym will transform into the Great Hall where you can sit at your House table and enjoy a cold butterbeer and begin the pixie hunt for escaped magical creatures.
Join a game of trivia on Friday and Saturday and adult and children’s costume contests Saturday and Sunday.
Diagon Alley is open all weekend for you to peruse magical creations and goods from local artists and crafters.
In the theater, you can watch a selection of movies, mostly not Harry Potter films. Ticket prices are $6 for adults and $4 for kids in advance.
Also, a portion of proceeds are donated to Basic Rights Oregon and attendees are welcome to bring school supplies to donate for Boys and Girls Aid.
