As the holiday season approaches, the iconic Pittock Mansion in Portland is gearing up to transform into a Winter Wonderland, marking the return of its beloved annual Christmas display.
This year promises to be more enchanting than ever, with a festive theme that will transport visitors into a magical realm of holiday cheer.
Here are the details about the 2023 event:
A Pittock Mansion Christmas: Winter Wonderland
Pittock Mansion Christmas is November 19, 2023, through January 4, 2024. During the holidays the mansion is adorned with whimsical decorations, thanks to the creative efforts of 75+ dedicated volunteer decorators. This cherished Portland tradition invites guests to immerse themselves in the joyous spirit of the season.
2023 Theme
The Winter Wonderland theme brings to life a captivating array of holiday scenes within the mansion. Snow angels, ice skating, playful elves, snowmen and more await visitors in each uniquely decorated room. The attention to detail and imaginative displays promise to captivate the hearts of guests of all ages.
Bonus: Art and History Unveiled
This year, visitors can also explore the stunning art exhibition, “Eliza Barchus: A Woman of Resilience.” Featuring more than 65 landscape paintings by the award-winning early Oregon artist, this exhibition adds an extra layer of cultural richness to the Pittock Mansion experience.
Additionally, guests can view the reopened Gate Lodge, the charming home of the Pittock estate keeper, offering a glimpse into the history and heritage of this iconic landmark.
Tickets
Pittock Mansion Christmas is included in general admission, which includes admission to the mansion, the special exhibition in the mansion, Christmas displays and the Gate Lodge.
Here is the price of admission:
- $16.50 for adults
- $14.50 for seniors
- $12.50 for youth
- Children 5 and under attend for free.
To make the most of this enchanting experience, it is recommended to purchase timed tickets online in advance. Tickets are also available onsite.
The mansion is open 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Sunday and opens at noon on Tuesdays. It is closed on Thanksgiving, Christmas Day and New Year’s Day.
If you want to add another fun activity to this visit, hike from Lower Macleay Trailhead up to the mansion.
