As Lunar New Year approaches, Bridgeport Village is gearing up to host a special celebration for families and individuals alike.
Head to the shopping center for a day filled with engaging activities that capture the spirit of the holiday. Bridgeport Village is joining several Lunar New Year celebrations in and around Portland.
Here are the activities planned at the 2025 event.
2025 Lunar New Year Celebration at Bridgeport Village
On Saturday, February 1, Bridgeport Village hosts several free activities open to all ages.
From 1 to 4 p.m., immerse yourself in the rich culture of Lunar New Year with the following activities at the Village Green:
Calligraphy Demonstration: Learn the techniques of this beautiful artwork from Dr. Jiyu Yang, a classically-trained scholar from the Wisdom Arts Academy.
Miniature Dragon Puppet Interactive Play: Step into a world of enchantment, allowing your imagination to run wild as you interact with these whimsical creatures.
Origami Station: Explore the ancient Japanese art of origami at our dedicated station. Fold vibrant paper into intricate shapes and designs, discovering the meditative and therapeutic qualities of this traditional craft.
Kid-Friendly Cherry Blossom Crafts: Gear up for spring by making a creative bloom artwork at the family-friendly craft station.
Performance Schedule
This event also features live performances, including:
- 1 p.m. Summit Wushu Academy (martial arts)
- 2 p.m. Oregon Chinese Coalition (cultural dances)
- 3:30 p.m. White Lotus Lion Dance
