Lunar New Year Celebration at Washington Square is ringing in the Year of the Dragon with a special event focusing on good fortune and power.

Lunar New Year Celebration at Washington Square
The Lunar New Year Celebration at Washington Square is Saturday, February 17, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the mall’s summit court.
In celebration of the Lunar New Year, visitors can snap a selfie and make a wish on red ribbon, at the Wishing Tree.
There will be traditional crafts, stories, dances, and more activities for the whole family.
Here’s the schedule:
- 11:00 AM: Portland Puppet Museum presents “Legends of Ancient China and Jade Empress of China”
- 12:00 PM: Korean Kayageum musical performance by Doyeon Lim
- 12:30 PM Hope Chinese Charter School
- 1:00 PM: Storytelling by Alton Chung
- 1:30 PM: Art World School
- 2:00 PM: Oregon Chinese Coalition
- 2:30 PM: Portland Chinese School & the Yo-Yo Team
- 3:00 PM: Summit Wushu Academy
- 3:30 PM: White Lotus Lion Dance
This event is free to attend.
