Lunar New Year Celebration at Washington Square is ringing in the Year of the Snake with a special event focusing on good fortune and power.

Here are some more Lunar New Year celebrations you won’t want to miss:

• Chinese New Year at Lan Su Chinese Garden
• Lunar New Year Celebration at the Milwaukie Community Center

Lunar New Year Celebration at Washington Square

The Lunar New Year Celebration at Washington Square is Saturday, February 8, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the mall’s summit court.

In celebration of the Lunar New Year, visitors can snap a selfie and make a wish on red ribbon, at the Wishing Tree.

There are also fun activities hosted by the FLIP mobile children’s museum.

• 11:00 AM Portland Puppet Museum presents “Legends of Ancient China and Jade Empress of China”
• 12:00 PM Tsugaru Shamisen Duo by Takohachi X
• 12:30 PM Hope Chinese Charter School
• 1:00 PM The Chinese Track of German International School
• 1:15 PM Oregon Hope Chinese School
• 1:30 PM Art World School
• 2:00 PM Oregon Chinese Coalition
• 2:30 PM Portland Chinese School & the Yo-Yo Team
• 3:00 PM Summit Wushu Academy
• 3:30 PM White Lotus Lion Dance

This event is free to attend.
