What Military Discounts Can You Get in Portland?
I’ve compiled this guide to help you easily find the top spots for military discounts in Portland. From well-known national chains to local mom-and-pop shops, Portland businesses are proud to give back to active duty military and veterans.
Whether you’re a Portland resident, stationed nearby, or just passing through, take advantage of these discounts. Proof of service is required for all of these deals so don’t forget your ID card.
This list is in alphabetical order and covers a wide range of businesses in and around Portland.
Ace Hardware
Military members receive 20% off on the first Friday of each month. View participating locations.
Amtrak
Active duty U.S. military personnel, their spouses and their dependents are eligible to receive a 10% discount on the lowest available rail fare on most Amtrak trains. Use the Fare Finder at the beginning of your search and select “Military” for each passenger to receive the discount.
Also, veterans receive a 10% discount on the lowest available rail fare on most Amtrak trains.
Big 5 Sporting Goods
Active duty, reserves, retirees, veterans, their spouses and dependent children receive 10% off their entire purchase in store only at all Big 5 locations.
Carson Hot Springs
Enjoy a staycation at Carson Hot Springs with 15% off regular rates for all active and retired military personnel and government employees at federal, state and local levels. Contractors (CRCs) are also eligible. This resort also offers budget-friendly soaking pools.
Fred Meyer
Current military members, their families and veterans get an additional 10% off purchases every third Thursday at Fred Meyer.
Foot Locker
Active duty, veterans, National Guard, reservists, and registered dependents of active duty or retiree service members receive 10% off most purchases at Foot Locker.
Home Depot
Active service members, veterans and their spouses enjoy 10% off eligible purchases at Home Depot.
Kimpton Hotel Vintage Portland
U.S. and Canadian active duty, veterans, retired military and family members get up to 20% off the Best Flexible Rate at Kimpton Hotel Vintage Portland.
Kohl’s
On Mondays, active duty, veterans, retirees and immediate family members get 15% off qualifying purchases, in store only at Kohl’s.
Lloyd Center Ice Rink
Military members get $3 off skate sessions at Lloyd Center Ice Rink. Skate rental included.
Lowe’s
Active duty, retired and military veterans and their spouses get a 10% discount on eligible items when they join My Lowe’s Rewards.
Michaels
Active duty, reservist/National Guard, veterans and registered dependents get 15% their purchase (sale items included) every day with Michaels Rewards. This discount is available online and in store. Limit one military discount per product per day.
National Parks and Federal Recreational Lands Pass
Current U.S. military and dependents get a free annual America the Beautiful—the National Parks and Federal Recreational Lands Pass. Gold Star Family members and veterans get a lifetime pass for free.

New Seasons Market
On Military Tuesdays, New Seasons Market gives veterans and current military 10% off most items.
OMSI
The Oregon Museum of Science and Industry, known as OMSI, offers $2 off museum admission to active duty and veterans. Tickets are available at the front desk. Save even more by visiting during the monthly OMSI discount day.
Oregon Symphony
The Oregon Symphony gives active military personnel and veterans $20 per ticket to select concerts. Once approved for this discount, service members can buy tickets by calling our ticket office the Monday before the concert you wish to attend by calling 503-228-1353. Or purchase tickets at the concert hall 2 hours before the concert. Fill out this form to get started.
Oregon Zoo
Veterans and active service members receive $3 off the regular admission price at Oregon Zoo.
Portland Art Museum
Active duty and veterans get free admission at the Portland Art Museum. Also from Memorial Day to Labor Day, Free admission to the nation’s active duty military families get free admission. You can also access the museum for free during First Thursday events.
Portland Center Stage
Active duty or veteran military personnel and their immediate families get $15 off tickets at Portland Center Stage. Also, everyone can enjoy Pay What You Will events.
Portland Japanese Garden
There are two opportunities for free admission during select dates each year at Portland Japanese Garden:
- Rose Festival Fleet Week (June 4-8): Free admission for all active military personnel.
- Veterans Day (November 11): Free admission for active military personnel, military veterans and their families who accompany them on Veterans Day. Families of deployed military personnel are also given free admission to Portland Japanese Garden.
Regal Cinemas
Select Regal Cinemas offer discount tickets to veterans, active duty and retire military. View participating Regal Cinemas locations.
T-Mobile
The Essentials Choice 55 plan starts at $25 per line for military and veteran families at T-Mobile. There are two other levels to choose from.
Topgolf
Topgolf offers military (active duty and veterans) 10% off Topgolf game play, a 20% discount on select platinum memberships and a 10% discount on event game play and room rental. View more weekly deals at Topgolf.
Trail Blazers
Get special Trail Blazers ticket pricing for active-duty military, veterans, first responders, educators, government employees and their families. View available military and government offers.
TriMet
With the Honored Citizen Fare, get 50% day trip admission and 72% off monthly passes for veterans and active duty military on TriMet.
Verizon
Military members and veterans pay only $25 per line at Verizon. Other discount plans are available.
