National Alpaca Farm Days

During the last weekend in September, alpaca farms across the country are opening their gates to the public for National Alpaca Farm Days. 

On September 28 and 29, 2024, two nearby alpaca farms are participating in this annual celebration of the cute camelids and their incredible fibrous coat. These events will feature up-close alpaca experiences, farm tours and alpaca products for purchase.

It is free to visit the farms and admire the alpacas, but be prepared to pay for tours, feeding the alpacas and other activities on the farm.

2024 National Alpaca Farm Days

Briarwood Acres

Meet the alpacas and llamas at this Salem farm. This is a free, family-friendly event for all ages. There is also free coffee or cocoa.

Grain to feed the animals is available to buy. You can also peruse handmade alpaca clothing and gifts at the farm store.

Bring your camera and wear boots or closed toed shoes.

The farm is open 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday and 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Sunday. Briarwood Acres is at 4150 Briarwood Street NW in Salem.

La Finca Alpacas

This farm as more than 20 baby alpacas in a variety of fluffy colors. Enjoy refreshments and enter for a chance to win two fiber quality boys in the annual raffle.

The farm is open from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday. La Fina Alpacas is at 19201 NE Gabriel Rd. in Yacolt.
