Northwest Fossil Fest is celebrating 19 years of paleontology discoveries. Spend the day learning about fossils, fossil collecting, preparation and identification.
This event is hosted by the North America Research Group, an organization that promotes scientific research, communication and public education.
Here’s what you can expect at the event:
2023 Northwest Fossil Fest
The fossil fest is Saturday, August 5, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. This free, family friendly event offers informative displays, demonstrations, lectures and educational fun for children.
Here are the activities at the festival:
- Lectures on recent paleontological discoveries in the Pacific Northwest.
- Exhibits with a variety of specimens.
- Activities and free fossils for children.
- Bring fossils for identification help.
- Micro and macro photography demonstration.
- Fossil preparation demonstration to learn how professionals clean and prepare specimens.
The event is held at Tualatin Heritage Center, 8700 SW Sweek Drive in Tualatin. Admission is free and you’ll also receive free entrance to the museum.
