As the holiday season approaches, the iconic Pittock Mansion in Portland gears up to transform into a Home for the Holidays, marking the return of its beloved annual Christmas display.
This year promises to be bigger and better than ever, with a festive theme that transports visitors into a magical history of holiday cheer.
Here are the details about the 2025 event:
A Pittock Mansion Christmas: Home for the Holidays
Pittock Mansion Christmas is November 17, 2025, through January 11, 2026. During the holidays, the mansion is adorned with whimsical decorations, thanks to the creative efforts of 70+ dedicated volunteer decorators. This cherished Portland tradition invites guests to immerse themselves in the joyous spirit of the season.
2025 Theme
The expanded and reimagined Home for the Holidays features festive displays across nineteen rooms in the mansion and four rooms in the Gate Lodge. Each room is artfully decorated to reflect five iconic decades from the 1910s through the 1950s.
A curated handout guides you to the sights, including a festive 1920s breakfast room, snowy view from a sleeping porch inspired the beloved Christmas song “Winter Wonderland, a display that explores holiday traditions and enduring spirit of joy during one of America’s most challenging times, the Great Depression, along with more innovative and spirited displays. The Gate Lodge showcases the 1950s, with a eye toward the decade’s advances in science and technology.
Bonus: Harry Wentz art exhibit
The Harry Wentz art exhibit, which also opens on November 17, features more than 35 paintings, prints and ephemera. Learn about the the life and art of a man who left a lasting legacy as a talented Portland artist and mentor to many 20th-century Portland artists.
Tickets
Pittock Mansion Christmas is included in general admission, which includes admission to the mansion, the special exhibition in the mansion, Christmas displays and the Gate Lodge.
Here is the price of admission:
- $17 for adults
- $15 for seniors
- $13 for youth
- Children 5 and under attend for free.
To make the most of this holiday experience, it is recommended to purchase timed tickets online in advance. Tickets are also available onsite.
The mansion is open 9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Sunday and opens at noon on Tuesdays. It is closed on Thanksgiving, Christmas Day and New Year’s Day.
If you want to add another fun activity to this visit, hike from Lower Macleay Trailhead up to the mansion.
