Visit a Scandinavian Christmas market featuring art, crafts and food.
Do you know about the Yule goat? This Scandinavian symbol of the holiday season is a gift giver who is sometimes pictured as Santa’s companion.
In the spirit of the Yule goat, start your holiday preparations at New Sweden Cultural Heritage Society’s event.
The Scandinavian Christmas Goat Market
On Saturday, November 25, 2023, head to the historic Norse Hall for the Scandinavian Christmas Goat Market. From 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., peruse crafts and goods by local artisans while enjoying music, food and family-friendly activities.
More than 20 vendors are selling an array of Nordic goods in a high ceiling ballroom decorated with Nordic country flags.
There’s a variety of Scandinavian baked goods and Nordic foods for purchase, including lefsa, abelskiver and korv. In the kids area, there are goat crafts and face painting. You also won’t want to miss the Christmas LEGO exhibits on display for all to enjoy.
Tickets are $6 for adults and $4 for kids 3 to 15. Tickets are sold at the door and in advance online.
Norse Hall is located at 111 NE 11th Ave. in Portland. For more information, visit New Sweden Cultural Heritage Society’s website.
