There is something magical about a tree covered in mesmerizing lights and charming decorations. It is even more impressive when the tree stands at 75 feet tall. Ring in the season at the Portland Tree Lighting Ceremony.
On the day after Thanksgiving, Portlanders are invited to kick off the holiday season with good tidings and cheer. The annual tree lighting ceremony celebrates the illumination of the city’s centerpiece.
Here are the details about the 2023 event.
2023 Portland Tree Lighting Ceremony
The 39th annual Portland Tree Lighting Ceremony is Friday, November 24 from 5:30-6:30 p.m.
At the event, the sing-a-long will be led by Thomas Lauderdale from Pink Martini, local musicians and chorale singers.
The chorus of voice from performers and the crowd lead up to the big moment. Santa Claus flips the switch lighting the 75-foot Douglas fir illuminated with 9,500 colorful lights.
