The Belmont Street Fair is bringing the community together to celebrate local creators, musicians, performers and chefs.

One of my favorite summertime activities in Portland is attending the totally free, family-friendly and fun neighborhood street fairs. If you’re new to Portland or haven’t explored the city in a while, this is a great way to get out there and see what another neighborhood have to offer.

The Belmont Street Fair is Saturday, September 14, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

In its 28th year, the event takes over six blocks of Southeast Belmont Street from Southeast 31st and SE Cesar Chavez Blvd. Lining the street are large variety of food and retail vendors, a beer garden, a kid’s zone, performers and activities for all ages.

The kid’s zone has two bounce houses, bubble wands, a sensory ball pit, hula hoops and lots of entertainment. See the reptile man, circus performers and youth performers and artists. There’s also a whole schedule of baby races.

The event is a great place to do some early Christmas shopping, find one-of-a-kind goods and enjoy some of the city’s best street food.

The street fair also has a lineup of performances on three stages. Here’s the schedule:
