The Northwest Film Center and Portland Art Museum have created a new way to connect with audiences while socially distancing.

From August 6-September 27, Cinema Unbound Drive In will show movies at Zidell Yards located in the South Waterfront of Portland. This is sure to be a nice setting with the Ross Island Bridge and Willamette River as the backdrop.
On Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights, guests can park under the movie screen to watch an array of films, including cinema classics, indie favorites, new releases, documentaries, animation and art across genres and styles. The gates open at 8:30 p.m. and showtime is 9 p.m.
Ticket pricing ranges from $35-$45 per vehicle for general admission. Premium tickets are $55 and include a reserved front row parking spot, NW Film Center swag bag and complimentary popcorn. You can also add on a Sweet and Treats Snack Pack with two popcorns, two Brownies or Rice Krispie Treats and two Perrier Carbonated Mineral Waters for $15.
While on first glance this event may seem pricey, it is less expensive than your family or group of friends going to an evening show at a cinema. Plus, this is one of the most creative events I've seen in Portland this summer. Personally, this gives me an excuse to safely get out of the house for the evening.
Most of the films are family friendly. The website gives you a full rundown on each movie, including its trailer, rating and runtime. View the full schedule and buy tickets for your movie of choice on the NW Film Center's website.
