Book lovers are invited to join Literary Arts at the annual Portland Book Festival. This year, bibliophiles can partake in activities all day long at multiple locations in downtown Portland.
2024 Portland Book Festival
The Portland Book Festival is on Saturday, November 2, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
The event features author discussions, pop-up readings, writing workshops for youth and adults, kids’ story time, an extensive book fair, and local food trucks. More than 100 local and national authors will be sharing their knowledge and writing at the event.
Sessions will take place at multiple locations in downtown Portland all within walking distance, including 10 stages at six venues, including Portland Art Museum, Portland’5, The Judy, First Congregational United Church of Christ, The Old Church and Shemanski Park.
The book fair and exhibitor fair is at Portland Art Museum, and pop-up events are in the museum galleries. There is also a tented area with food carts at the Oregon Historical Society.
Admission
Here’s a breakdown of admission options, with deals and free admission for certain groups. All attendees must pick up a wristband before entering any festival venue.
- General Admission: Tickets are $18 in advance (plus processing fees) and $25 day-of. Tickets include a $5 voucher to use at the book fair.
- Students: Attendees 17 and under and/or with high school ID can attend for free.
- Arts for All: If you have a SNAP or Oregon Trail card, you will pay only $5. You’ll need to present your card to enter the festival.
- Veterans and Military: Admission is free for veterans and active military with proof of military ID.
The festival also has add-on events, including the Friday Night Book Market, Michael Lewis In Conversation with Andrew Proctor and Viet Thanh Nguyen In Conversation with Tommy Orange.
