Powerland Halloween: A Family-Friendly Halloween Adventure

Looking for Halloween fun without the frights? Powerland Halloween returns to Powerland Heritage Park in Brooks, Oregon, with an interactive mystery, historic trolley rides and plenty of activities for kids.

This year’s event, Powerland Halloween: A Trolley Museum Mystery – The Case of the Missing Fairy, invites families to become detectives and solve a magical mystery. It’s a Halloween experience designed for younger children, with no haunted houses or jump scares.

The Case of the Missing Fairy

Something strange is happening at the Oregon Trolley Museum. Autumn, the tiny fairy responsible for bringing fall colors to Oregon, has disappeared. Without her, pumpkins remain white and leaves refuse to change color.

Sherlock Holmes suspects Ember the Dragon is behind the disappearance, but Lenora Holmes isn’t convinced. That’s where your family comes in.

Young detectives will board a historic trolley and MAX car, follow clues, meet characters and investigate the museum to uncover what happened to Autumn.

Unlike a traditional guided experience, this year’s adventure lets families choose which clues to investigate and explore much of the event at their own pace.

More Halloween Activities

The mystery is just one part of the experience. Admission also includes:

• Rides aboard a historic trolley and an original Portland MAX car.

• A visit to the Pacific Northwest Truck Museum.

• A small white pumpkin for kids to decorate.

• An indoor Kids’ Activity Center with games and hands-on activities.

• Halloween displays, photo opportunities and a chance to see historic steam-powered equipment.

The event is suitable for all ages, although organizers particularly recommend it for children ages 3 and older.

Powerland Halloween Dates and Tickets

Powerland Halloween takes place on select weekends in October, including Halloween Day.

2026 dates:

• October 10-11

• October 17-18

• October 24-25

• October 31

Hours: 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

Plan to spend 2-3 hours enjoying the activities. Organizers recommend arriving early, ideally around 10 a.m., and no later than 2 p.m. if you want to experience everything.

Ticket Prices

• Adults (ages 13+): $19

• Children (ages 2-12): $15

• Children under 2: Free

Tickets include the mystery adventure, trolley and MAX rides, pumpkin decorating and other activities. Parking is free.

Tickets are available online and at the event, although advance purchases are recommended. Tickets are nonrefundable.

Location

Powerland Halloween takes place at Powerland Heritage Park, 3995 Brooklake Road NE in Brooks, Oregon, just north of Salem off I-5 Exit 263.

The event takes place rain or shine, with several activities held indoors or under cover. Keep in mind that the historic trolley and MAX car are not wheelchair accessible, although several other activity areas are accessible.
