Located in Southwest Portland, Tryon Creek is one of Portland’s best urban parks. This beautiful natural area is a great example of our temperate rainforest climate: trees covered in moss with huge ferns lining the trails that lead to the creek.

Green Friday at Tryon Creek Natural Area
What’s Green Friday? On the day after Thanksgiving, spend your day out in nature instead of participating in hyperconsumerism of Black Friday shopping.
Tryon Creek hosts a free event that encourages you to make the most of Green Friday at this beautiful outdoor escape in Portland.
The Green Friday event is Friday, November 28, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Here are the activities planned at this free, family-friendly event:
- Enjoy hot coffee and cocoa.
- Participate in coloring crafts.
- Join a building tour
- Hike any of the 14 miles of trails.
