If you have kids, it is not always easy to find family-friendly Halloween events that empathize fun over fright. This year, Kids Monster Fest is here to create an immersive Halloween experience during daylight hours.
By night, the Veterans Memorial Coliseum transforms into one of the many local haunted houses crawling with haunts and frights for its annual attraction Underhill Haunted House. By day, a new attraction called Kids Monster Fest is opening its doors to little ones under the age of 12 (and scaredy cats of all ages) for a fun, adventurous fall activity without the traditional haunted house terror.
This immersive matinee experience is sure to give you chills and a few scares but in a wholesome, kid- and family-friendly environment. Aside of neighborhood trick-or-treating events, this is one of the city’s only Halloween event just for families. Other fun fall activities for all ages include Portland pumpkin patches and fall festivals.
At Kids Monster Fest, you’ll get access to two mazes. Kids will be given a magic flashlight that will keep all the monsters, ghouls and goblins at bay. A special prize is given to any kid who finds Harry, the cute and friendly resident bat.
Kids Monster Fest is scheduled for only four select days and times during the latter half of October. On Halloween, there will be extra prizes and activities for families to enjoy.
General admission tickets are $8 person, regardless of age. Get a discount when you buy the Family Super Pack for $40 for up to 8 people ($5 per ticket). Online ticket purchases have a processing fee as well.
