Join a cultural festival celebrated by Southeast Asian communities: New Year in the Park. This event promises a blend of tradition, community and celebration for everyone to enjoy.
Local Southeast Asian communities honor traditions, elders and culture at this annual celebration. The event extends an open invitation to share this heritage with the Portland community.
New Year in the Park
New Year in the Park is Saturday, April 26, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Glenhaven Park. The event promises a vibrant showcase of cultural performances, traditional games, crafts and cuisine from Southeast Asia.
It’s a chance for Portlanders from all walks of life to come together, learn from one another and celebrate the diversity that makes our city so special.
Here’s what is planned at this event:
Entertainment: From cultural to contemporary, there’s a full day of live music, dance, demonstrations and children’s activities.
Food: There are 15 food vendors offering unique and authentic recipes.
Local vendors: Peruse one-of-a-kind goods from Cambodian, Lao, Thai and Myanmar communities.
Attendance is free, and all are welcome to participate.
