Pollinator Festival at Clark Public Utilities
The Pollinator Festival is Saturday, June 24 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Here are the activities planned for the festival:
Take a tour of the pollinator garden and solar pollinator meadow. Learn how to provide food and habitat for pollinators native to Clark County.
Be inspired by bestselling author Doug Tallamy’s presentation on the simple solution for transforming yards into conservation corridors for wildlife. Doug will sign books after his talk. There are also talks on hummingbirds as pollinators, introduction to native bees, and nurturing habitats at home for bees and moths.
Partake in crafts and activities for children. Get a close-up look at bees in the demo beehive. Additional activities include making a bee buzzer, coloring a pollinator button, planting a sunflower and applying temporary pollinator tattoos.
Local farmers market vendors are onsite with fresh food, handmade and repurposed crafts, and artisanal goods. Adding even more fun to the celebration are vendor booths, food trucks and music.
The event is held at Clark Public Utilities’ Operations Center, 8600 NE 117th Ave in Vancouver.
The Pollinator Festival is free to attend. For more information, visit Clark Public Utilities’ website.
