2026 Portland Oddities and Curiosities Expo

Taxidermy, preserved specimens, antique medical devices and art that leans toward the macabre. If your tastes run a little strange, the Portland Oddities and Curiosities Expo is bringing a whole convention center’s worth of unusual finds to town.

The traveling expo returns to the Oregon Convention Center on November 7 and 8, 2026, with two days of shopping, entertainment and hands-on workshops.

Here’s what to expect at this year’s event.

Portland Oddities and Curiosities Expo

The Oddities and Curiosities Expo brings together artists, collectors and small businesses specializing in the strange and unusual.

Rather than your typical craft fair, this event features vendors selling everything from vintage medical curiosities to handmade jewelry incorporating bones and insects.

Some of the items you’ll find include:

• Taxidermy and preserved specimens

• Animal skulls and bones

• Original artwork and horror-inspired pieces

• Antiques and vintage medical equipment

• Handcrafted oddities

• Unusual jewelry and clothing

• Funeral memorabilia and collectibles

• Insect displays and entomology art

According to the organizers, all items sold at the expo are legal to own and sustainably sourced.

Visitors can browse vendors from around the country, watch sideshow-style entertainment and check out the food concessions.

Oddities and Curiosities Workshops

Want to make something strange of your own? The expo also offers hands-on classes covering taxidermy, insect preservation and specimen preparation.

This year’s Portland workshops include:

Saturday, November 7

• Opossum taxidermy class, 10 a.m.–4 p.m.

• Entomology classes, morning and afternoon sessions

Sunday, November 8

• Octopus and tentacle globe wet specimen class, 10 a.m.–noon

• Ratalope coffin taxidermy class, 1:30–3:30 p.m.

• Entomology classes, morning and afternoon sessions

Classes cost extra, but expo admission is included with a class ticket. Participants must be at least 16 years old for the taxidermy and specimen workshops listed above.

Tickets and Admission

The Portland Oddities and Curiosities Expo takes place Saturday and Sunday, November 7–8, 2026, at the Oregon Convention Center.
