2024 Portland Regional Gem and Mineral Show
Portland Regional Gem and Mineral Show is October 4-6, 2024. Hours are 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Friday and Saturday and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday. Whether you’re a seasoned collector or a curious newcomer, this event has something to inspire and delight you.
What’s Happening at the Show
This year’s show features more than 40+ dealers from across the Northwest offering a wide variety of unique items, including:
- Rocks, minerals and fossils from around the world.
- Jewelry, beads and faceted gems.
- Lapidary supplies for all your rock-cutting needs.
Discover over 70 displays showcasing a range of rocks, minerals and fossils. Some exhibits are competition displays while others are by junior rock hounds and collectors.
Family-Friendly Activities
There’s no shortage of family-friendly activities, including:
- Kids corner featuring games and prizes.
- An interactive fossil area where you can get hands-on experience with fossils and ask questions from experts.
- A cell phone scavenger hunt through the exhibits—don’t forget to wear your favorite rock and mineral t-shirt.
- Saturday morning talks for kids.
- Kids have the chance to pan for real gold with the NW Minerals Prospectors Club through hourly drawings!
Special Presentations and Demonstrations
The event is packed with exciting talks and presentations, including:
- The Fluorescent Mineral Society will host a special presentation for kids and parents at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday (parents must accompany children).
- Meteorites and gold talks.
- Interactive demonstrations on wire wrapping, beading, cabbing, faceting and more by experienced artisans.
- Stick around for the Fluorescent Mineral Society’s meeting from 4-6 p.m. on Saturday.
- For photography lovers, this is your chance to meet a rock and mineral photographer who will be showcasing their work. Get inspired by the stunning images of natural wonders, or ask for tips on capturing your own shots.
Plus, there are door prizes, raffles, and silent auctions.
Admission
Admission is $7 for a weekend pass. Kids 12 and under free.
