2025 Veterans Day Deals: Free Food, Haircuts and Car Washes for Military

Businesses throughout Portland are giving back to those who serve with Veterans Day deals.

To thank our veterans and active military members, many businesses are offering free food, admission and services on Veterans Day, Tuesday, November 11, 2025. 

If you’re not a military member, you probably know someone who can enjoy these Veterans Day deals. Share the link to this post with your loved ones who serve.

One deal everyone can enjoy is the National Parks Service’s fee-free day, Washington State Parks free entrance and Forest Service recreation area free day on November 11.

Not all deals are on Veterans Day, so be sure to read the details. All of these deals require proof of service.

2025 Veterans Day Deals

Food Freebies and Deals

Applebee’s

All veterans and active duty military get a free entrée from a special menu at participating Applebee’s locations on November 11. Dine-in only. Contact your nearby Applebee’s to make sure they are participating in this deal.

Claim Jumper

On November 11, veterans and active duty military enjoy a free meal at Claim Jumper. 

Special menu items include:

• BBQ chicken salad
• Classic cheeseburger
• Black tie chicken pasta
• Meatloaf and mashed potatoes
• Country fried steak
• Southern fried chicken

There are two locations near Portland: 9085 SE Sunnyside Rd. in Clackamas and 18000 SW Lower Boones Ferry Rd. in Tigard.

Conestoga Recreation and Aquatic Center

The Tualatin Hills Park and Recreation District hosts a free breakfast for veterans and their families from 9-11 a.m. on November 11. There are also free activities during the event. 

The event is at Conestoga Recreation and Aquatic Center, 9985 SW 125th Ave. in Beaverton.

Dave & Buster’s

Veterans and active-duty military a free entrée (up to $20) and free $10 Power Card on November 12 at Dave & Buster’s.

The closest location is at 11860 SE 82nd Ave Suite 4020 in Happy Valley.

Denny’s

Get a free Original Grand Slam breakfast for all active and retired military personnel on November 11, from 5 a.m. to noon at Denny’s. The meal includes two buttermilk pancakes, two bacon strips, two sausage links and two eggs cooked any way. Dine-in only.

There a four Denny’s locations in and around Portland.

Golden Corral

Head to the buffet for Military Appreciation Night from 4 p.m. to close on Tuesday, November 11. Anyone who has served in the U.S. military, including retirees, veterans, active duty, National Guard or Reserves, can get a free thank-you meal at Golden Corral. This deal is good for dine-in only.

The closest Golden Corral is at 11801 NE Fourth Plain Blvd. in Vancouver.

IHOP

IHOP is giving veterans free Red, White and Blueberry Pancakes at participating locations on November 11 from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Dine-in only. Limit one per guest. 

There are IHOP locations in Portland, Hillsboro, Beaverton, Oregon City, Tigard, Wood Village, Sherwood and Vancouver.

In-N-Out Burger

Veterans and active duty military members receive a free meal at In-N-Out Burger on November 11. The meal includes any burger, fries and beverages.

The closest In-N-Out Burger locations to Portland are at 5801 N. Pioneer Canyon Dr. in Ridgefield and 6280 Keizer Station Blvd. in Keizer.

McCormick & Schmick’s

U.S. Military, National Guard, Gold Star parents, Gold Star spouses and active military get a half-price entree on Sunday, November 9 at McCormick & Schmick’s. Reservations are recommended. This deal is dine-in only. 

Options include: 

• Sugar and spice cedar planked salmon
• Craft beer battered fish and chips
• Crab and shrimp stuffed salmon

All McMenamins locations are offering special discounts to all former and active-duty service members all day long. Deals include:

• 20% off all food and beverages in McMenamins restaurants and bars.
• 20% off all logo apparel and logo merchandise.
• $2 small popcorn when coming for a movie; limit one per service member per movie.
• 20% off hotel rooms on November 10 and 11. Select “Veterans” as your rate.

Menchie’s Frozen Yogurt

All veterans and active duty military receive their first 6 ounces of frozen yogurt for free on Veterans Day at Menchie’s Frozen Yogurt. If you go over 6 ounces, you can just pay the difference.

MOD Pizza *New*

Veterans, active duty military and military spouses get 50% off MOD-size pizzas or salads at MOD Pizza on November 11. This deal is available in store only. 

There are 19 locations in and around Portland. 

Outback Steakhouse

On November 10 and 11, military members get a free Aussie 3-course meal. which includes a starter, choice of select entrées and dessert.

This deal is available at participating Outback Steakhouse locations for dine-in only. No substitutions. Beverages, taxes and gratuity not included.

There are three local Outback locations: 11146 SW Barnes Rd. in Portland, 8700 NE Vancouver Mall Dr. in Vancouver and 8665 SW Tualatin-Sherwood Rd. in Tualatin.

Pilot Flying J

On November 11, veterans verified through ID.me in the Pilot Flying J app will receive a free meal credit, which includes one hot sandwich and one hot coffee (any size), iced coffee (any size), or fountain beverage (any size). Veterans can redeem the offer at any of the 750+ participating Pilot and Flying J Travel Centers in the U.S. 

The closest Pilot Flying J locations to Portland are along I-5 in Aurora and Brookings.

Portland City Grill 

On November 11, veterans, Gold Star spouses and Gold Star families get 20% off their meal at Portland City Grill. Valid on dine-in only up to a party of four. Not valid on alcoholic beverage purchases. Reservations are encouraged. 

Red Robin

At Red Robin, veterans and active military guests get a free Red’s Big Tavern Burger with bottomless steak fries on November 11 at participating locations. Dine-in only. No purchase necessary.

On November 11, Shake Shack serves all active-duty military personnel and veterans a The Big Shack for free. Available in person only. 

The burger features two quarter pound, all 100% Angus beef patties, secret sauce, green leaf lettuce, American cheese, thick cut pickles, hand-sliced onions, Roma tomatoes on three buttered and toasted potato bun.

Starbucks offers a free tall (12-oz) hot or iced coffee for veterans, military service members and military spouses at participating U.S. Starbucks stores on November 11. 

Thirsty Lion

On November 11, Veterans and active military get one complimentary entrée on Veterans Day at Thirsty Lion. The offer is valid for dine-in only.

Choose any item from a special Veterans Day menu, including pork carnitas salad bowl, cheeseburger, spicy fried chicken sandwich, French dip, fish and chips ad Tuscan romano chicken.

Visit the Washington Square location, 10205 SW Washington Square Rd. in Tigard or Tanasbourne location, 2290 NE Allie Ave. in Hillsboro.

Veterans Day Free Admission and Discounts 

Chelatchie Prairie Railroad

On November 8 and 9, Chelatchie Prairie Railroad is giving veterans a complimentary ride with the purchase of another adult ticket. The train departs at noon and 2:30 p.m. both days.

Free Car Wash

Washman Car Wash and Auto Spa is treating veterans to a complimentary car wash on November 11. 

There are 14 Washman locations in and around Portland. 

Forest Service Recreation Area

Get free entrance to Forest Service recreation areas on November 11. This includes recreation sites and trailheads in Oregon and Washington, such as the Columbia River Gorge, Mt. Hood National Forest, Gifford Pinchot National Forest and 14 more.

Great Clips

At Great Clips, veterans and active military members can get a free haircut on November 11, or pick up a free haircut card to use at a later date. 

Lan Su Chinese Garden *New*

On November 11 from 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Lan Su Chinese Garden offers free admission for active-duty military, veterans and their families. Use code VETSD online or visit the ticket booth. 

Lan Su Chinese Garden is at 239 NW Everett St. in Portland.

Mycelium Outlet *New*

The Portland shop offers 10% off your total purchase in store and online on November 11. This deal is open to everyone. View mushroom supplies on Mycelium Outlet’s website. The shop is at 3605 NE 50th Ave. in Portland. 

National Parks

Get free entrance to U.S. National Parks for all visitors on November 11. Also, Gold Star Families and U.S. military veterans receive free access to more than 2,000 federal recreation areas, including national parks, wildlife refuges and forests indefinitely.

Oaks Park

From November 8-11, veterans receive a free Open Skate admission and veterans’ families get 25% off admission when attending with their soldier at the Oaks Park Roller Rink. Standard skate rental is included. The deal is not available online. You must present Veteran ID or a photo of yourself in uniform for discounts to apply in person. 

Portland Japanese Garden

On Monday, November 10, Portland Japanese Garden is offering free admission for veterans, active duty military and their families who accompany them. While you’re there, you can also ride around Washington Park on the free shuttle.

Portland Japanese Garden is located at 611 SW Kingston Ave. in Portland.

Oregon Zoo

On November 11, military veterans and active military personnel, as well as family members will receive up to four free tickets at the Oregon Zoo. Families of deployed military personnel also will be given free admission. Tickets must be reserved online in advance.

The Oregon Zoo is at located at 4001 SW Canyon Road in Portland. 

Sports Clips *New*

Participating Sports Clips stores offer free haircuts to veterans and active duty military on November 11. There are 13 locations in and around Portland. Be sure to check participation on the Sports Clips’ website. 

The Wellness Center PDX

On November 11, veterans can get free chiropractic adjustments at The Wellness Center PDX. 

To claim a complimentary visit, call 503-389-5545 for the Portland office or 503-389-6962 for the Beaverton office to schedule your appointment.

Walgreens

From November 8-11, veterans, military and their families will receive 20% off regular price eligible store items at any Walgreens locations nationwide. This deal is available in store only. Free myWalgreens membership is required. 

Washington State Parks

All visitors get free entrance to Washington State Parks on November 11.
