Halloween is not canceled! Especially for those thrill seekers among us who love a good scare. This year, the Clackamas County Fairgrounds is transforming from fun to freaky for a few nights of fright in October.
The Clackamas County Scare Fair is a drive thru haunted grounds experience. The event is bringing together the minds behind some of Portland’s best Halloween events. Nightmare Factory, Davis Cemetery, Fearlandia and Creatures of the Night have put their noses to the headstone for special scares around the Clackamas County Fairgrounds.
Right now, the Clackamas County Fairgrounds is helping those affected by the Riverside and Beachie Creek wildfires. There is no indication that this has changed the Scare Fair schedule, but I will update this post if anything changes.
2020 Clackamas County Scare Fair
How it works
Before the event, you will purchase a time slot for your visit online. Time slots are valid for 30 minutes. For example, if you select the 7 p.m. time slot, you must arrive between 7 and 7:30 p.m. Visitors are encouraged to arrive 10 minutes before their chosen start time.
Clackamas County Scare Fair is using a virtual queue system for line management. Once you arrive for the event, you’ll park in the red lot, then check in at http://ccscarefair.
Once you are checked in, you will receive a confirmation text message. Once it is your turn to drive into the Scare Fair, you will receive another text message with instructions.
The Clackamas County Scare Fair will be taking place every weekend in October from 7 p.m. to midnight. Dates include:
- October 1 – 4
- October 9 – 11
- October 16 – 18
- October 23 – 25
- October 30 – November 1
This will be a drive thru experience where visitors will remain in their vehicles. The organizers of Scare Fair ask visitors to stay home if they have COVID symptoms or have been around someone with symptoms within 14 days of their Scare Fair visit.
Tickets will cost $20 per car. You are welcome to fit as many people as you legally can into your vehicle. If you’re rolling solo, the event offers a single person price of $11.
Tickets are available now for purchase online. Visit the Clackamas County Fair and Event Center’s website.
The Clackamas County Fairgrounds is located at 694 NE 4th Ave. in Canby.
