Free Admission Weekend at the Oregon Jewish Museum

To commemorate the 75th anniversary of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, the Oregon Jewish Museum and Center for Holocaust Education invites you to join them for a weekend of reflection, education and dialogue.

The Oregon Jewish Museum and Center for Holocaust Education, or OJMCHE, explores the legacy of the Jewish people in Oregon while also teaching the universal relevance of the Holocaust and providing opportunities for intercultural conversations.

This weekend, the museum is opening its doors to the public for free.

Free Admission Weekend at the Oregon Jewish Museum

On December 8, 9 and 10 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., get free admission to OJMCHE. This commemoration aims to honor the principles outlined in the Universal Declaration of Human Rights and engage visitors in meaningful conversations.

A centerpiece of this event is the museum’s newest core exhibition, Human Rights After the Holocaust. Set to the backdrop of the 75th anniversary of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, the exhibition raises a poignant question: How do we turn hope into action? 

OJMCHE invites visitors to engage with trained volunteers around special prompts connected to Human Rights After the Holocaust. These thought-provoking conversations aim to encourage deep reflection on how each of us can uphold human rights in our daily lives and contribute to turning hope into action.

While you’re there, you can also explore five additional exhibits, ranging from artwork to Oregon Jewish storytelling.

OJMCHE is at 724 NW Davis Street in Portland. This weekend, you can also attend menorah lighting celebrations in and around Portland.
