It’s lavender season in the Pacific Northwest! Starting in mid-June, lavender farms throughout the Portland area invite the public to enjoy the beauty of the blooms, pick their own bundles and peruse homemade lavender products.
These five beautiful lavender farms are a short drive from Portland. Plan your visit to one or all of the farms this summer.
Tips for visiting a lavender farm:
Dress for the farm and weather. Bring sunscreen, wear close-toed shoes, a hat and water. You will be in direct sunlight while you’re harvesting your lavender bundle or strolling through the field.
Pack a basket. This will make carrying your lavender bundle much easier.
Be prepared for bees. Bees love the lavender and will be buzzing around you throughout the day.
Bring a picnic lunch. These farms have many places for you to relax and take in your surroundings. Make the most of your trip by packing a lunch.
