Celebrate St. Patrick’s Day at the Luck of the Irish Steam Train Excursion, a scenic steam train ride in Portland.

The Oregon Pacific Railroad is a family owned and operated freight railroad company. The company operates a special passenger train along the East Portland Division railroad line in Portland. 

Get ready to kick off the 2023 train season at this holiday event.

Luck of the Irish Steam Train Excursion

On March 18, celebrate St. Patrick’s Day with a scenic steam train ride in Portland. 

The train travels along the Springwater Corridor next to the Willamette River. The ride will be powered by the vintage Polson #2 Steam Locomotive.

To make the event extra special, there’s a scavenger hunt is planned during the ride.

Choose from three train rides on Saturday: 1 p.m., 2:30 p.m. and 4 p.m.

Tickets are $18 for adults and $13 for kiddos under 12. Children under 2 ride ride for free on an adult’s lap.

Snacks along with adult and kid-friendly beverages are available for purchase.

The ride starts and ends at the Oregon Rail Heritage Center is located at 2250 SE Water Ave. in Portland.
