Don’t miss Portland’s largest street fair this summer. The annual Mississippi Street Fair brings together the eclectic, flavorful, fun-loving flair of one of Portland’s best neighborhoods into the largest family-friendly block party of the summer.

This is one of several Portland street fairs that bring our city together for a day of summertime fun.

The 2024 Mississippi Street Fair is Saturday, July 13. In true street fair fashion, it is a totally free event in the heart of North Mississippi Avenue—from N Fremont to Skidmore. From 10 a.m. to 9 p.m., the street will be open to foot traffic only.

Sidewalks overflow with homemade goods, specialty crafts, fun activities and lots of tasty food that all exhibits the many talents of our nearby friends and neighbors. There are over 200 vendors at the event.

Mississippi Street Fair is also a mecca for live music with four stages all set to showcase talented local musicians. This event also hosts the grandfather’s rib-off competition as well as a kids zone.

The businesses along the street make the most of the day by giving you many fun freebies and chances to win gift cards and other cool merch.

My advice is to get there early. Street parking is free, but be prepared to search far and wide for a good spot. Also, I recommend bringing a water bottle (it’s going to be hot) and pack a reusable bag for any treasures you find.
