Learn how to turn a walk in the woods into a nature journal at Tryon Creek State Natural Area. On Friday, September 18, local author and science illustrator Audrey Sauble leads a 90-minute nature journaling class focused on seeds and how they travel.
The all-ages class costs $10-$20 on a sliding scale, and no previous art experience is needed.
Nature Journaling at Tryon Creek
During the class, participants will explore different nature journaling tools and techniques and learn how to record observations through a combination of drawing and writing.
Basic art supplies are provided, or you can bring your own sketchbook and favorite materials. If the weather cooperates, part of the class may take place outside in Tryon Creek State Natural Area.
The September class focuses on Seeds that Travel. It’s part of an ongoing nature journaling series at Tryon Creek, with additional classes scheduled this fall, including Leaves & Leaf Litter on October 16 and Mushrooms on November 20.
