Book lovers are invited to join Literary Arts at the annual Portland Book Festival. This year, bibliophiles can partake in activities all day long at multiple locations in downtown Portland.
2022 Portland Book Festival
The Portland Book Festival is on Saturday, November 5, from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. The event features author discussions, pop-up readings, writing workshops for youth and adults, kids’ story time, an extensive book fair, and local food trucks. More than 70 authors will be sharing their knowledge and writing at the event.
Sessions will take place at multiple locations in downtown Portland all within walking distance. Venues include Portland Art Museum, Arlene Schnitzer Concert Hall, Brunish Theatre, Winningstad Theatre, The Old Church, First Congregational United Church of Christ, Portland Parks Foundation Tent in the South Park Blocks.
Between events and workshops, stop by the book fair in Portland Art Museum’s Kridel Grand Ballroom. Food trucks will be on SW Park Avenue for you to get a bite to eat.
Admission
Tickets are $15 in advance and $25 day-of. Tickets include a $5 voucher to use at the book fair. Attendees 17 and under and/or with high school ID can attend for free.
If you have a SNAP or Oregon Trail card, you will pay only $5. You’ll need to present your card to enter the festival. Arts for All Program can be reserved in advance at the Portland’5 Box Office or by calling 503-248-4910.
Admission is free for veterans and active military with proof of military ID.
The festival also has add-on events, including the Friday Night Book Market, Selma Blair in conversation with Esmé Weijun Wang and Taylor Jenkins Reid in conversation with Cheryl Strayed.
