Book lovers are invited to join Literary Arts for the return of the Portland Book Festival. This year, bibliophiles can partake in a hybrid festival with virtual and in-person activities.
The 2021 Portland Book Festival will host virtual programming from November 8-12. Authors will speak in a variety of virtual events from live-streamed discussions to podcasts and radio broadcasts. Tickets are free, but donations are encouraged. You’ll register online to get access to the virtual programming.
The in-person Portland Book Festival is on Saturday, November 13 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. The event features up close and in-depth conversations with authors representing all genres. Sessions will take place at multiple locations in downtown Portland all within walking distance. Venues include Portland Art Museum, Portland’5 and South Park Blocks.
Between the speaking events, stop by the book fair in Portland Art Museum’s Kridel Grand Ballroom.
Food trucks will be on SW Park Avenue for you to get a bite to eat.
Tickets are $15 in advance and $25 day-of. Tickets include a $5 voucher to use at the book fair and admission to the Portland Art Museum. Attendees 17 and under and/or with high school ID can attend for free.
If you have a SNAP or Oregon Trail card, you will pay only $5. You’ll need to present your card to enter the festival. This ticket option does not include the book fair voucher.
Admission is free for veterans and active military with proof of military ID. This option does not include the book fair voucher.
All attendees must provide proof of vaccination or a negative COVID test within 72 hours of event to attend the in-person Portland Book Festival.
