Whether you are a bibliophile, an aspiring writer or simply looking to discover more local book stores, Portland Book Week has something for everyone.
Here’s how you can join the fun.
2024 Portland Book Week
Portland Book Week is June 10-16, 2024. Spend the week exploring 50 independent booksellers in Portland and Vancouver.
Bookstore Crawl
To start the week, stop by a participating location to pick up a bookstore crawl bingo card. If you complete a bingo card, you’ll have the chance to win prizes. There’s also giveaways at select bookstores.
Here’s how it works:
- Get a stamp from a participating bookstore that matches the prompt on your bingo card.
- Each bookstore can only be used for one bingo space.
- You have to earn at least two bingos to be eligible for prizes. If you fill in the whole board, you’ll be entered to win more prizes.
- Visit 8-10 participating bookstores during Portland Book Week.
- Fill in your info on the front of the card.
- Bring the completed bingo card to one of the participating stores by June 23.
Literary Events
There are lots of events happening at the participating bookstores featuring authors, including Rene Denefeld, Melissa Febos, Marie Lu, Emet North, Kimberly King Parsons and Anastacia-Reneé. There are also book swaps, special discounts, trivia, a poetry slam and more.
Rose City Book & Paper Fair
June 14-15, visit the Rose City Book & Paper Fair and peruse more than 60 booksellers at Lloyd Doubletree in Portland. If you bring your bingo card, you’ll get free admission.
