Have you ever seen a sunflower field in bloom? This isn’t a common sight in the Pacific Northwest, but every year Packer Orchards grows an incredible sunflower field open for picking. If you’re looking for a fun road trip with a picture perfect destination, make sure you get to this sunflower field before the bloom is over.
The sunflower field at Packer Orchards is located in Hood River. Cut your own sunflower bouquet from thousands of sunflowers and multiple different varieties. Or simply snap some great selfies with your friends and family.
Once you’re finished in the field, head in to the Packer Orchards farm store with a full bakery serving all your favorite fresh baked goods, homemade jams, fresh fruits, and event ice cream treats with handmade waffle cones. This place has been a family-owned orchard and bakery since 1921, so you know it has got to be good.
The sunflower field access fee is $3 per person, which includes one sunflower. Additional sunflowers are $2 per stem. Check in at the sales barn before heading out to the field.
Sunflowers are only in bloom for a short time. Take the trip to Packer Orchards for the sunflower field July 31-August 11. The farm is open from 10 am. to 5 p.m. Please leave your dog a home. No strollers or backpacks are allowed in the field.
