Have you ever seen a sunflower field in bloom? This isn’t a common sight in the Pacific Northwest, but every year Packer Orchards grows an incredible sunflower field open for picking. If you’re looking for a fun road trip to a picture perfect destination, make sure you get to this sunflower field before the bloom is over.
The sunflower field at Packer Orchards is located in Hood River. This year, they have new precautions in place to make your experience as safe and fun as possible. To access the sunflowers, you’ll need to buy a field access pass online before your visit (no same day sales at the farm).
Field access passes are $6 per person for one hour in the field and two u-cut sunflowers. On the ticket page, you’ll choose the date of your visit as well as your time of arrival. You can also add on more u-cut blooms to your purchase. The pass is required for everyone age 2 and up. There are limited spots available per day.
The sunflower field at Packer Orchards will be open August 14-16 and 21-23 from 10 am. to 5 p.m. See all the important details and get your field access pass on the Packer Orchards website.
Once you’re finished in the field, head in to the Packer Orchards farm store for a full bakery serving all your favorite fresh baked goods, homemade jams, fresh fruits, and event ice cream treats with handmade waffle cones. This place has been a family-owned orchard and bakery since 1921, so you know it has got to be good.
Masks are required inside the store at all times, and outside when social distancing cannot be maintained.
The farm asks that you leave your dog a home. No strollers or backpacks are allowed in the field.
The Packer Orchards sunflower field is located at 3020 Thomsen Rd. in Hood River, Oregon. For more information, visit the farm website at packerorchards.com.
