Every holiday season, Portland International Raceway transforms into the largest light show in the Northwest. Winter Wonderland is one of the must-see holiday light displays in Portland. It is happening for a full month this year, giving families and friends plenty of time to schedule a visit during the busy holiday season.
After Thanksgiving, you can visit Winter Wonderland any day of the week. This year’s schedule is November 29-January 4, which includes Christmas Eve and Day and New Year’s Eve and Day.
Hours are Sunday–Thursday, 5:30-9:30 p.m. and Friday–Saturday, 5-11 p.m. On holiday nights, hours are 5:30-9:30 p.m.
Ticket prices range from $20 to $25 depending on the day you visit. The ticket prices are per car. If you have 3+ people, the price of admission is very reasonable.
If you don’t have a carload of people, or want to experience the light display in a whole new way, the best days to visit are during the Winter Wonderland Special Nights. On select evenings, the raceway invites you to get out of the car and wind through the thousands of beautiful light displays along the raceway path.
The best part about the Winter Wonderland Special Nights is the ticket price: $7 for adults and FREE for kids 12 and under.
There are three select Winter Wonderland Special Nights this year that you won’t want to miss.
2019 PIR Winter Wonderland Special Nights
Bike the Lights
November 29 | 5-11 p.m.
Opening night of the 2019 Winter Wonderland is going to the bikers. No vehicles are allowed on the track as you bike with friends and family along the dazzlingly-lit path.
To make the event extra fun, visitors are encouraged to dress up their bikes—and themselves—in holiday lights.
If you work up an appetite on the path, food carts will be onsite.
Free parking is available at the raceway. For anyone biking to PIR, the south gate off Denver Avenue will be open for easy bike access.
Important info: Helmets are required for kids 16 and under and highly encouraged for all ages. Proper bike lighting is required. For safety reasons, no strollers, walkers, scooters, or roller bladers are allowed.
