2024 Portland Tree Lighting Ceremony
The 40th annual Portland Tree Lighting Ceremony is Friday, November 29 from 5:30-6:45 p.m. at Pioneer Courthouse Square.
At the event, the sing-a-long will be led by Thomas Lauderdale from Pink Martini, local musicians and chorale singers.
The chorus of voices from performers and the crowd lead up to the big moment. Santa Claus flips the switch lighting the 75-foot Douglas fir illuminated with 9,500 colorful lights.
If you can’t make it down to the square, you can watch the tree lighting on KGW. Starting at 5:30 p.m., the tree lighting ceremony is streamed live on KGW+, which is available on Roku, Fire TV and Apple TV. You can also watch it on KGW.com as well as the news station’s app and YouTube channel.
Pioneer Courthouse Square is at 701 SW 6th Ave. in Portland. For more information and to download the songbook, visit Pioneer Courthouse Square’s website.
