Salt & Straw: Trick-or-Treaters Get Free Kid’s Cone on Halloween

The saying “I scream, you scream, we all scream for ice cream,” takes on a whole new meaning during the spooky season. Portland’s popular ice cream shop Salt & Straw has a (screaming) deal for trick-or-treaters on Halloween.

Since 2011, Salt & Straw has been churning small batch, handmade ice cream featuring local ingredients. The ice cream shop currently has five locations in the Portland area and recently opened locations in Beaverton and Eugene locations.

The shops have interesting signature flavors, like olive oil and honey lavender, and many of the classics along with new limited edition flavors every month that keep customers coming back for more.

Currently, the ice cream shops are featuring the Ice Scream Series. Take a trip through the house of sweet scare with candy, pumpkin bread, licorice and lavender, and even chocolate crickets blended into five Halloween-inspired flavors. 

Salt & Straw is joining a list of Halloween freebies and deals. Here are the details.

Get Free Salt & Straw Kid’s Cone on Halloween

On October 31, 2022, kids dressed up as their scariest, silliest or favorite character will get a scoop on for free. New this year, dogs in costume can also get a pup scoop.

Head to your nearest Salt & Straw location and your trick-or-treaters can get a free kid’s cone featuring a seasonal or signature flavor for free. Kids 16 and under must be in costume to receive this complimentary scoop. This deal is available in shops only on October 31.

All five Salt & Straw locations in and around Portland are participating. Find one closest to your favorite trick-or-treating haunts:

• 838 NW 23rd., Portland
• 2035 NE Alberta St., Portland
• 2735 SW Cedar Hills Blvd. Unit 100, Beaverton
• 100 A Ave., Lake Oswego
