The saying “I scream, you scream, we all scream for ice cream,” takes on a whole new meaning during the spooky season. Portland’s popular ice cream shop Salt & Straw has a (screaming) deal for trick-or-treaters on Halloween.
Since 2011, Salt & Straw has been churning small batch, handmade ice cream featuring local ingredients. The ice cream shop currently has four locations in the Portland area and recently announced plans to open Beaverton and Eugene locations. The shops have interesting signature flavors, like olive oil and honey lavender, and many of the classics along with new limited edition flavors every month that keep customers coming back for more.
Currently, the ice cream shops are featuring the Ice Scream! Series. Take a trip through the house of sweet scare with candy, pumpkin bread, black licorice and even chocolate crickets blended into five Halloween-inspired flavors.
