Every year, Target hosts a special trade-in event for shoppers to get rid of their old car seats and get a deal on new seats for their little ones. The store is bringing back this popular event in 2021 and passing along the deals for families to cash in on.
From April 5-17, trade in any car seat and you can get 20% off coupon toward a new car seat, car seat base, travel system or stroller. You can also use this discount on select baby home gear, including playards, high chairs, swings, rockers and bouncers.
Target will accept all types of car seats, including infant, convertible, car seat bases, harness or booster seats and car seats that are expired or damaged. Target takes all of these unwanted car seats and has them recycled by Waste Management. The program keeps old car seats out of the landfill, and also keeps people from giving away old car seats that may be less safe to other parents.
Before you head to your nearest Target, here’s an important step to take. To get this deal you will need to join Target Circle. It is free to join and gives you access to earnings on every purchase, special deals, a special birthday discount and more.
The easiest way to be logged in and ready to access this deal at the store is with the Target app, which can be downloaded to your device from Google Play or Apple’s App Store for free. You can also access your Circle account from your phone’s browser.
Here’s a breakdown of how the Target Car Seat Trade-In Event works:
- Bring an old car seat or base to a nearby Target and drop it in the designated box inside the store.
- While logged into your Target Circle account, scan the code on the box. Talk to a Team Member in Guest Services if you need help.
- Open your Wallet in the Target App and view “Extra offers” to find your coupon and more contactless savings.
- Click the green checkmark next to the offer and place your order online, or scan your barcode at the register.
If you are trading in two car seats, you can redeem this offer twice. Your coupon can be applied to both in-store and online purchases through May 1, 2021.
This is a national event and all Target stores are participating. Make sure you share this post with your friends and family!
